Authentic, traditional, good service.
Sure, the restaurants in the ZTL are excellent, too but here is where the locals divertiti a mangiare.
I feel more comfortable dining where tourists are outliers.
Authentic Italian atmosphere, very nice people AND very good food!
Far from the touristic area, the place feels like a real classic Italian restaurant, the ones you sees in the movies, we were the only tourists there.
The food is great, exactly what we wanted. The service is really good and the price are more than fair.
Great food great prices in what looks like it was some industrial building. Great bustling atmosphere. We went on our penultimate evening and just had to go back on our final evening in Lecce.
We are American citizens visiting Italy to search for a house to permanently move to Lecce, Italy. Prior to arriving we researched the requirements about the “green card.” Because America doesn’t issue ‘green cards’ they issue vaccination certified cards. We tried to explain that customs and passport control used our certification cards to allow entrance to Italy, to all the major hotels and airlines. We believe we experienced our first encounter of discrimination. We are learning the language and understood a good bit of the conversation between the waiter and the “cashier/waitress” who didn’t want to serve us in the first place. When she finally said, put them at the table in the back (which was right outside the toilet and next to the pizza making. Then she told us without a “green card” they wouldn’t serve us. Please, all expats and tourist visiting Lecce, DONOT EAT AT LOCANDA MAMMA RITAs. They certainly have the right to refuse service, but when I hear the waitress, say, “no reservation, no table for them” but, with the exception of 2 the tables the place was empty. I’m a former civil rights attorney and this was outrageous and unacceptable for this day and age.
Very good pizzas, probably one of the best of Lecce. Waiters are nice and prices are cheap
Definitely one of the best pizza and pasta places in Lecce. Authentic, down-to-earth restaurant for a local experience.
Cheap, great pasta and pizza and lovely staff. There is only a local beer in the menu and the rest are imported.
